The GX 2500 and GX 6500 network security appliances deliver high-bandwidth firewall and VPN solutions for large enterprise installations and data centers. The 3U rack-mount GX 2500 and GX 6500 provide hardened firewall protection with an ICSA-certified, stateful inspection firewall and integrated IPSec VPN connectivity.

Built on ASIC security architecture, the GX 2500 and GX 6500 provide breakthrough performance for superior VPN and security throughput. By offloading processing overhead associated with encryption, the GX 2500 can support up to 5,000 VPN tunnels and the GX 6500 can support up to 10,000 VPN tunnels.

Bundled with the GX 2500 and GX 6500 are 100 VPN clients for secure connectivity of dial-up users. The GX 2500 and GX 6500 provide mission-critical security with redundant, hot-swappable power supplies and SonicWALL High Availability, which enables two SonicWALL GXs (one primary and one backup) to operate as a redundant pair. The flexible chassis-based design of the GX 2500 and GX 6500 also provides a scalable path for future performance upgrades or network interface types. The GX 2500 and GX 6500 also include a DMZ port to support and protect public servers.

For seamless integration into a large corporate network infrastructure, the GX 2500 and GX 6500 can be managed by a wide array of local or remote options including CLI, a Web management interface, and SNMP. For centralized management and policy setting, the GX 2500 and GX 6500 include the award winning SonicWALL Global Management System to reduce administration overhead as security requirements scale with an integrated, global security management solution for thousands of SonicWALL network security appliances. Also included is SonicWALL ViewPoint, a Web-based, graphical reporting tool for managing and monitoring network security.
